Progress on the new field house at Bradner Stadium continues. A sunny day in December helps the project along. Welcoming Olean’s newest store and manager Brittany Jones to North Union Street. Halloween was in the halls when trick or treaters visited the City Building, And the Mayor’s Office. There were smiles all around. Happy Halloween!! As the project on Prospect Street winds down… The project on North Union Street begins. A busy day on Prospect Street. The Olean Fire Department was on site to ensure that emergency vehicles and personnel had access to the homes of Prospect Street residents. Olean High School students and Mayor Aiello tour Dresser Rand on Manufacturing Day--October 3. Buddy and Roger Crum join Mayor Aiello at Dance for Memories at Good Times of Olean. But the girls on both teams had a blast. Meanwhile across town at the Olean Rec Center... The Enchanted Mountain Roller Derby Hellbilly Heartbreakers veered into action. The Local Irish Dancers provided entertain during the break. It was a busy weekend in Olean. The Gus Macker Basketball Tournament took to the streets surrounding the Olean Center Mall. With exciting games... For all ages. Mayor Aiello and the Common Council honor the New York State Champions—the Olean Senior League All Stars, ages 15-16 at the Common Council Meeting on August 12, 2014. The City of Olean DPW and National Grid continue to replace a number of light poles throughout the city. JCC Kids College Be A Cop taught by Christa Heckathorn visited the Police Department. The new Black Locust trees are paid for in part by National Grid’s 10,000 Trees and Growing – a program from National Grid to plant appropriate trees beneath overhead electric lines. Americorps members and other volunteers meet in the Olean Theatre Workshop on Washington Street before heading out to clean-up Oak Hill Park on May 3rd. The volunteers, including the Mayor and his granddaughter, spanned out across the playground and park. They picked-up the litter, rake the leaves and left Oak Hill Park summer-ready.
