City of Olean to Open Front Street City Lot
June 3, 2024—Olean—The Front Street City Lot, near the intersection of Seneca Street in Olean, will be opened monthly on the second Saturday of the month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. beginning on Saturday, June 8, 2024. The program will continue through October. The lot is open for residents to dispose of yard debris, such as tree limbs, (under 2” diameter), grass clippings, branches and leaves. Tree trunks are not accepted.
The lot will be opened for City of Olean residents only, identification with proof of residency will be required. No contractors will be allowed. The lot will be supervised by a City of Olean employee. Paper bags are allowed but no plastic bags will be accepted.
Please note that a limit of three (3) — 30-gallon paper bags (1/2 cubic yard) — per property will be accepted per week.
“The City is happy to provide this service to our residents. We established a limit this year to allow for us to continue to offer this program in years to come,” Mayor Aiello said.
Please be advised that monthly curbside pick-up, scheduled for the fourth Wednesday of the month has started and will continue through September.
