WINTER IS
FAST APPROACHING!
RESIDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING SIDEWALKS CLEAR OF SNOW & ICE
(OLEAN CODE SECTION 21-5)
Snow & ice shall be removed within 24 hours after the end of a snowfall. Commercial businesses shall keep walks clear at all times from 9:00AM to 5:00 PM.
If snow & ice is not cleared in a timely manner, the City will leave a notice at the premise giving four hours to clear the sidewalks. If not done after the four hour period, the City will arrange for the walks to be cleared by City forces and/or private contractor. The owner of the property will then be charged for all labor involved in clearing the sidewalk, as well as a fine ranging from $50-$250. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Office at (716) 376-5650.
