Olean Area Youth Court was established in 1986 and was known as The City of Olean Youth Court. In 1997, the program expanded, became the Olean Area Youth Court and included student members from Allegany, Portville, Hinsdale and Olean.

The Youth Court is an affiliate program of the City of Olean Youth Bureau. It is located in the City of Olean Municipal Building at 101 East State Street, Olean, New York 14760 .The Youth Court Office is located on the basement level of the Olean Municipal Building. Youth Court hearings are held in the first floor courtroom.
