Olean Cooling Center Available June 18 through June 21

June 17, 2024 Olean—William J. Aiello, Mayor of the City of Olean, announced that the John J. Ash Community Center will be open on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 through Friday, June 21, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. to provide relief from the predicted high temperatures.

“According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, there is going to be a prolonged period of dangerous heat this week, with temperatures predicted to reach 100 degrees,” said Mayor Aiello.  “Opening the air conditioned John J. Ash Community Center during the afternoon hours as the heat reaches its height, will provide a respite to those in need. It is a very comfortable facility and I encourage residents to stop by if they need a break during this heat wave.”

“I also advise residents to take precautionary actions and stay hydrated, if you are outside take plenty of
breaks and check on your neighbors and relatives,” Mayor Aiello added.
