The City of Olean Department of Public Works is seeking qualified candidates for appointment to a full-time competitive position of Electrician’s Assistant.  Permanent appointment will be made only after examination and successful placement on Civil Service List.  Minimum qualifications as established by the Civil Service Commission mandate that applicants must have two years’ of experience working in the electrical trade or graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or trade school with Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of training & experience.  Candidates for this position must have a New York State Driver’s License at time of appointment.  City of Olean residents preferred.  Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, February 14, 2024, and can be obtained from the Department of Public Works Office, 101 East State Street, Municipal Building-Room 206, by calling (716) 376-5650, or from our website at www.cityofolean.org.  Interested applicants should submit a completed application to:
